The New Deal Essay examples -- American History, Politics, Poverty
The New Deal was created to make the United States a more convenient country to Americans in need. It was created during Franklin D. Rooseveltââ¬â¢s first term of presidency in the year 1933. The New Deal was a chain of programs that were made to help the United States deal with poverty going on during that time. Poverty had a major affect on Americans; lack of employment, depression, homeless, and more. Many times families will feel like they were useless to their own family, because they couldnââ¬â¢t provide them with anything. According to Franklin D. Roosevelt (2009, para. 1), the New Deal was determined to three steps Relief, Recovery, and Reform; each one had their own significance. Like everything in history everything has a cause, therefore so did the New Deal. Sometimes the outcome of that cause is significant and carries down to different generations. A great example is the New Deal, because although the programs were done years ago some still exist today and many people benefit from it. The main cause of the New Deal was the stock market crash, which is known as the Great Depression. On October 29, 1929 also known as Black Tuesday, the world turned upside down (Charles Scaliger, 2008, p.34, para. 1). He says this, because it is the day the stock market crashed and everything started happening. There was a major increase in unemployment, lack of consumer buying, loss of homes, and farms as mortgages failed, and strikes and riots when workers could no longer earn a family wage (Phyllis J. Day, 2009, p.284). All of these outcomes from the crash affected not only the United States, but also the world, because no one had money to buy things to raise economy. According to Phyllis Day (2009, p. 284, para. 3), t... ...s and more. Although it served different races, racism was still a problem, because it was not forbidden to be prejudice, but just to avoid it. Basically the idea was do not get caught discriminating, which was not right, because many people of different color were in the same shoes like the others. An idea President Roosevelt had, which was the total opposite from President Hoover was control of production. The program National Industrial Recovery Act (NIRA) showed the major difference the two presidents had. While President Hoover believed in raising prices, so economy can grow, President Roosevelt believed otherwise. This program said companies were not to raise prices, just because economy was bad. Having this program lead to Unionization, because now the court was actually on the workers side, rather than the employees (Phyllis Day, 2009, p. 289).

American Infrastructure
American Infrastructure-Now or Never Because of the poor state of the economy the care American infrastructure has been ignored, which poses a danger to everyone that come in contact with it. Recent disasters have reminded many how important the care of American infrastructure is. Americaââ¬â¢s infrastructure gets a grade of ââ¬Å"Dâ⬠from the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), which recommends that we spend $2. 2 trillion on repairs and maintenance. ââ¬Å"Much of America is held together by Scotch tape, bailing wire and prayers,â⬠says director of the Fels Institute of Government at the University of Pennsylvania. But with the country no longer swimming but drowning in debt the upkeep of things such as roads and bridges, which we use every day, are easily overlooked. Mike Pagano, an urban planning expert at the University of Illinois at Chicago, said ââ¬Å"We have convinced ourselves that infrastructure is free, that someone else should be paying or that we h ave paid our share. â⬠One must stop overlooking the problems that one knows exist simply because the consequences are not immediate. Crumbling infrastructure has a direct impact on our personal and economic health, and the nationââ¬â¢s infrastructure crisis is endangering our nationââ¬â¢s future prosperity,â⬠D. Wayne Klotz. According to the U. S. Department of Transportation more than one in four of America's nearly 600,000 bridges need significant repairs or are burdened with more traffic than they were designed to carry. A third of the countryââ¬â¢s major roadways are also in less than standard condition which data from the National Highway Safety Administration finds plays a factor in a third of more than 43,000 traffic fatalities.Along with the Association of State Dam Safety Officials finding that the number of dams that could fail has grown more that 134 percent since 1999 to 3,346 and more than 1,300 of those being ââ¬Å"high-hazardâ⬠meaning their failure would threaten lives. When a council of 28 civil engineers evaluated 15 infrastructure categories on the basis of capacity, condition, funding, future need, operation, maintenance, public safety and resilience water received the lowest grade. ASCE gave U.S drinking water, inland waterways, levees, roads and wastewater infrastructures. The report they generated estimated that leaking pipes lose seven billion gallons of clean drinking water a day ââ¬Å"Infrastructure is the four-syllable jawbreaker that governments use to describe the concrete, stone, steel, wires and wood that Americans rely on every day but barely notice until something goes awry (Kelderman). â⬠Due to the state of the economy many lawmakers put the money need to keep infrastructure properly taken care of into things like defense. The federal Clean Water State Revolving Fund, which makes low interest loans to clean up or protect water supplies, has shrunk from more than $3 billion in 1990 to roughly $1 billion in 2007 (Kelderman). The report also suggests that there is an $11 billion dollar shortfall annually needed to bring facilities up to current federal water regulations. As stated in the article ââ¬Å" The State of the Union-Crumblingââ¬â¢, the nation is spending less than 40 percent of the $225 billion needed annually for the next 50 years to maintain the current system of roads, rails and bridges and build enough transportation capacity for a growing population. In the past ten years there have been many infrastructure failures that make you wonder when the government will get serious about the issue at hand. Not paying attention to the condition of infrastructure has proven to be fatal. The article ââ¬Å"The State of the Union- crumblingâ⬠confirms that on Aug. 1 2007 the Interstate 35 bridge in downtown Minneapolis collapsed into the Mississippi river, killing thirteen people. Steam pipe explosions in Midtown Manhattan last summer killed one and disrupted many.In March 2006 the Kaloko Reservoir dam in Hawaii collapsed killing seven and causing $15 million in damages. In 2005 after Hurricane Katrina the levees holding back Lake Pontchartrain gave way killing more than a thousand. Imperative calls have been made to prevent anymore catastrophes due to failing infrastructure but not much has been done. Money is still being put into things like defense which many politicians feel is more important. But if we keep neglecting our own home we may have nothing but half mangled buildings to defend. Our leaders are looking for solutions to the nationââ¬â¢s current economic crisis. Not only could investment in these critical foundations have a positive impact, but if done responsibly, it would also provide tangible benefits to the American people, such as reduced traffic congestion, improved air quality, clean and abundant water supplies and protection against natural hazard. â⬠ASCE President D. Wayne Klotz stated. A report from Kansas City Mi ssouri based HNTB corp. ound that 74 percent of Americans would be willing to spend more on various transportation expenses or taxes if the money was put toward long-term transportation improvements. More than half (58 percent) of Americans would pay more each month, an average of thirteen dollars per month, to reduce the time they spend in traffic by twenty percent. ASCE President D. Wayne Klotz also stated that ââ¬Å"Infrastructure investment at all levels must be prioritized and executed according to well conceived plans that both complement the national vision and focus on system wide outputs.Goals of the plan should center on freight and passenger mobility, intermodality, water use, environmental stewardship and encouraging resiliency and sustainability. The plans must reflect a better defined set of federal, state, local, and private sector roles and responsibilities and instill better discipline for setting priorities and focusing funding to solve the most pressing problems. The plans should also complement our broad national goals of economic growth and leadership, resource conservation, energy independence, and environmental stewardship.Infrastructure plans should be synchronized with regional land use planning and related regulation and incentives to promote non-structural as well as structural solutions to mitigate the growing demand for increased infrastructure capacity. â⬠A long-term infrastructure plan can foster productive growth in our economy, sustainable growth that furthers energy independence and real solutions to climate change and comprehensive growth so that low and moderate-income families have access to opportunity. And studies show that American citizen realize the importance and are willing to pay their fair share of the cost so the only thing missing now is action. The Legend Of Bagger Vance - 1408 Words
Parker Palmer and the Legend of Bagger Vance both connect with one another to better further our understanding of the vocational method. Palmerââ¬â¢s definition of vocation contains three key components to it. These components are; who am I? Whose am I? and distractions to our vocation. These three components help us to go deeper into trying to find our vocation and our understanding of what vocation is. These same three components are located in the Legend of the Bagger Vance. The Legend of Bagger Vance connects these three themes together with its own definitions and descriptions of what they are in order to better shine a light on vocation and delve deeper into what vocation is to each of us. Both Parker Palmer and the Legend of Baggerâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦All we got to do is get ourselves out of its way, to let it choose usâ⬠(The Legend of Bagger Vance). Bagger in this is illustrating that our authentic swing is what we are born with, our original selfhood who w e are called to be, and is unique to you only. Bagger stresses this once again by saying, ââ¬Å"Now play the game. Your game. The one that only you was meant to play. The one given to you when you was bornâ⬠(The Legend of Bagger Vance). Bagger is ultimately stresses the same points that Parker Palmer is. Both Palmer and Bagger and saying that we have an original selfhood we were born with and area called to find and become, and this is unique to the individual alone no one else. Both these ideas coincide with one another to help illustrate the idea of Who Am I in the vocational method. The Legend of Bagger Vance and Palmer both illustrate the aspect of whose am I? Palmer describes the theme of whose am I as an idea of relationships and how our relationshops affect our vocation. Palmer illustrates this when he says, ââ¬Å"For there is no selfhood outside relationshipâ⬠(Palmer). We cannot become our true self without understanding our relationships. Mr Gangsta Free Essays
D1 Evaluate the teamââ¬â¢s overall effectiveness in meeting its objectives, making recommendations for improvements In this assignment I will be talking about the overall effectiveness of my team which consists of me, Aman, Boris and Ansaar in meeting its objectives. I will be talking about what went well when constructing this team for a specific purpose and what didnââ¬â¢t go well. I will also be referring to Belbinââ¬â¢s, John Adairââ¬â¢s and Tuckmanââ¬â¢s Theories. We will write a custom essay sample on Mr Gangsta or any similar topic only for you Order Now The second part of this assignment I will be giving recommendations for improvement of how team work in the future may be improved. In the P5 assignment I was given a task to produce a presentation which demonstrates team working as part of a team towards achieving specific goals. In the presentation the following points were included; the benefits of team working, theories of team working and theories of leadership. Each team member in the team was given a specific role to complete which lead to the task ultimately being completed. I was given the role to find information through research about Tuckmanââ¬â¢s four stages of team development, Aman was allocated to a role where he had to produce slides for Belbinââ¬â¢s theory, Boris was given the role to produce slides about John Adair and finally Ansaar had the role to provide a few slides about the benefits of team working. This team was a temporary team as it was only formed to complete a task. Throughout the task each team member was motivated to contribute to the success of the task. Throughout the task the leadership was excellent as Boris the leader of this task allocated roles as soon as he becomes leader. Firstly we were supposed to choose the leader, Boris got the most votes for being the leader thus he had the responsibility to allocate us our roles immediately. Before producing our slides we were supposed to produce plans so that every person in the team knew what he was doing. The three steps were to; allocate roles in the team, start slides and the leader (Boris) has to analyse the work, and finally fix the slides and check for any spelling mistakes included in those slides. After this process was over we were able to finalize the slides. During the task all 4 members of the team were able to interact with the audience very well. While presenting the presentation each team member in the team had good eye contact with the audience which suggested that we knew what we were talking about and were confident in what we were saying. We practiced this presentation several times which reflected in our manner we presented our presentation. No individual in the group red of smart board as we had memorized the sentences thus we could use gestures while presenting the presentation. Hand movements was a essential requirement while presenting the presentation as when describing something you must use your hands for the point to be delivered to the audience. This makes the audience intrigued in what you are saying as they would want you to continue speaking. Furthermore, each member in the team was allocated with a very specific role which had to be completed before a deadline. Our team leader Borris who was a democratic leader as he encouraged each team member in the team to say what they wanted to so that those points can be brought up in the presentation. Boris gave us a specific date to complete the slides by so that any final areas can be checked for before presenting the presentation to the whole class. All 4 members in the team provided good communication skills as we were loud and clear at all occasions as the audience was able to hear what we were pointing out. Our group performed similar to the Tuckmanââ¬â¢s 4 stages of Team development. This gave us a guideline and a way we could perform in the team. The four stages of Tuckmanââ¬â¢s team development which are; forming, storming, norming and performing were carried out by our team as we created successful business plans which led to the success of the task. Correction of spelling mistakes and grammar were made as no errors were to be found when we were conducting our presentation. Furthermore Boris had those 3 leadership skills which John Adair had during his time, those 3 leadership skills were; the achievement of goal or task, the group of people performing the task, each individual member involved in the task. Boris followed these 3 leadership skills which led to the performance of our team being very good. These 3 leadership skills rubbed off on all of the other members of the team as Boris led by example. When we were forming our teams which is the first stage of team development of Tuckmanââ¬â¢s theory we had a slight problem. Both Ansaar and Warfa had equal rights to the team as they both participated equally. Neither one would oblige to go in another group as they had given equal contribution to the performance of the team. This is something which did not go well as no one was willing to move to some other team. Finally the problem was resolved as Warfa volunteered to make his own group consisting of himself, Aman and Boris. This situation lasted for a prolonged period of time as neither of these individuals wanted to move into a different team. There were several other problems during the P5 task for instance during the presentation my hands were in my pockets which limited my use of gestures during the presentation. Furthermore during the presentation I realised that we communicated well with each other however the slides we presented had too little information. Our overall performance was good however if there was more information on each slide then the overall performance would have improved even more. Moreover Ansaar mostly red of the slides and didnââ¬â¢t show much eye contact with the audience. He was a confident and loud speaker thus everyone was able to hear him however he kept reading of the smart board therefore the teamââ¬â¢s overall performance decreased slightly. Hands in pockets are a key sign of disrespect and shows that you cannot be bothered to present the presentation. On a few occasions I was caught with my hands in my pockets and I was unaware of that. I presented my part of slides well and presented myself well to the audience however the lack of movement of hands slightly decreased the credibility of my performance. There are several recommendations for improvement which can be applied on our team. The first being the point that I mentioned above; hands in my pockets. When I present some other type of business presentation next time I wish to use my hands more for gestures and ways which I can present my point to the class more efficiently. This will improve the credibility of my speech and will make the class more intrigued to listen to what I have to say. Furthermore I would like my team to conduct a presentation more efficiently next time. I want to conduct a presentation where every team member has memorized all the words on the slides so that individual doesnââ¬â¢t have to read of the slides. How to cite Mr Gangsta, Essay examples

Organizational Policy and Strategic Management â⬠MyAssignmenthelp
Question: Discuss about the Organizational Policy and Strategic Management. Answer: Introduction PepsiCo organization is one of the most effective organizations operating in the drinks and beverage industry. The organization has managed to achieve its current level of effectiveness through effective management strategies that its management has instituted throughout its operation since its establishment in the year 1965. Like all other organizations, therefore, PepsiCos success is associated with good management and leadership throughout the organization, which enables it to expand its operations beyond local boundaries and still manage to have success in its operations. Over time, a large number of organizations have made attempts to join the industry, but it has become extremely difficult for them to manage to compete with this organization in the industry and obtain a share of its already fully established market. An assessment of the many management aspects that have helped this organization achieve its level of effectiveness that it has achieved so far can help in determini ng the importance of effectiveness in organizational management. This assessment is carried out in this paper, which helps in understanding how effectively management strategies theories can be applied in practice. PepsiCo, Inc. is one of the most popular and highly ranked food and beverage companies in the world. It is based in the United States and was established in the year 1965 after two organizations, Pepsi-Cola Company and Frito-Lay, Inc. merged. Since this establishment, the organization has been developing significantly through expansion and acquisition of much other existing organization to the current level that it is today. The organizations main acquisition that significantly increased its revenue and general rank is the acquisition of Tropicana Products a fully known and popular organization which took place in the year 1998. An important aspect of this organization is the products that it stocks and sells to a large number of individuals over time. The first main brand which provides the organization with a large amount of revenue is the Pepsi Brand. This brand has a large number of drinks like the Pepsi drink among other products, and it provides more than 15 billion dollars in revenue for the organization. The Pepsi Brand is thus the main product that the organization offers to its customers. Other brands that are also important and contributes significantly to the gains of the organization is the Mountain Dew brand, Gatorade products obtained from the Tropicana acquisition and the Lays Potato chips products. These brands of the organization are the other brands that also provides a significantly large number of revenue for the organization. Having a significantly large number of products that it offers for purchase to its customers makes PepsiCo stores centers for attraction to all customers that seek refreshments or fast foods and thus due to this strategy the organization manage to achieve significantly high gains and loyal customers that only prefer its products to those of competitors. PepsiCo Company had managed to expand its operations to more than 200 countries by the year 2012. Its brand products in this year managed to generate revenue of more than one billion dollars per piece, an aspect that of significant success to the organization considered that it has a large number of brand pieces. The organization managed to obtain a general annual net revenue of 43.3 billion dollars. Considering the aspects of net revenues, therefore, this organization is the second largest food and Beverage Company in the world after the Coca-Cola Company. The organization distributes its products but also hires other licensed bottlers which help in distributing some of its products to ensure that time deadlines of company product deliveries are met. The organization had managed to employ about 274, 000 employees by the year 2013 (Bailey, 2014). Organizational corporate governance mechanism In PepsiCo, governance is one of the most important aspects that all individuals significantly value. Like all other organizations, it is headed by the CEO of the organization, Indra Nooyi, who has been its Boards chairperson and also the leader of the organization since the year 2006. After the CEO, the other important management body of the organization is the board of directors. The board makes significant contributions towards the making of important decisions of the organization. Although the organization selects the best and most qualified individual to become its leader, there is the belief that any leader requires guidance and that giving an absolute power of an organization to a single individual may not be the most appropriate action that any organization should take. Due to this reason, the main decisions of the PepsiCo organization are made by the board of directors, which is chaired by the CEO of the organization. This aspect makes the CEO of the organization the main or ganizational decision maker, whose power is also controlled by the board of directors (Steiss, 2003). The board of directors of PepsiCo organization, therefore, must consent for any major decision to be made in the organization. This aspect makes the management of the organization effective and easy since the burden of making decisions is not on only a single individual. Apart from the board of directors, there is also the immediate organizational management which consists of the organizational employees that are highly ranked in the organization. This is the section of the management that is tasked with the responsibility of establishing effective operational strategies of the organization since the strategies help the organization maintain its market share and competitiveness. The CEO of the organization also heads this section of the management. After this management obtains an appropriate opportunity that the organization should take, it then provides an explanation of that decision to the board of directors who vote towards the establishment and making of this effective decision in an appropriate manner. PepsiCo. The organization has been utilizing this form of management strategies to manage to achieve the success that it has achieved in its industry (Sherman, Rowley, Armandi, 2006). Sources of cost and differentiation advantage in the industry Cost and differentiation enable any organization to obtain a competitive advantage over its competitors. When the organization manages to differentiate its products to the extent that all individuals attain the ability to define an organizational product and differentiate it from the products of its competitors, that organization provides an opportunity for customers to prefer its products over those of the competitors. The other important step to consider, however, is ensuring that the newly obtained tastes and form of the differentiated products are preferred over those of the competitors. Pepsi utilizes its manufacturing and branding capabilities to differentiate its products from those of the competitors and also ensure that those products are preferred to those of the competitors (Choo, Bontis, 2002). The first main source of differentiation advantage for the PepsiCo organization is the fact that the organization manufactures some of its products. With the choice of manufacturing in place, the organization attains the ability to manufacture products according to its designs and ideas, which can be significantly different from what is offered in the market. Since the organization also embrace the use of technology for data analysis among other customer preference determining purposes, it can determine the tastes and preferences of customers and the rationale behind those decisions. This aspect makes the organization completely effective in the operations of providing to the market the products that majority of the customers are interested in purchasing compared to the products offered by its competitors. With this regard, the organization attains the ability to have a large number of loyal customers that only purchase its products (Sadler, 2003). The other main source of differentiation and cost advantage for the organization is its large revenue and number of investors, which gives it the ability to manufacture and handle products in bulk. Like the case of all other organizations, PepsiCo organization enjoys the advantage of making product products in bulk and thus it obtains the ability to offer significantly low prices compared to most of its competitors. The aspect of having products that are easily manufactured and those that can be offered to the market at significantly low prices attract both customers and organizational investors. With this regard, this advantage helps the organization to increase its effective operation and improve significantly. The foods and beverage industry is one of the most competitive industries that are in existence. Even being the second largest company operating in this industry in the world, Pepsi still faces stiff competition from its main competitor, The Coca-Cola Company, and other local organizations in the countries where it operates. The Coca-Cola Company is currently the leading organization in this industry by revenue. This provides the organization with more resources and capability to implement many strategies of operation, which makes it a significant competitor for the organization. One of the main ways through which Pepsi utilizes in competing with Coca-Cola is through differentiation of operations and improvement of service delivery. This strategy is highly effective because customers prefer the organizations that provide them with high-quality services and also provides them with their tastes and preferences in the tastes offered (DB Hoovers, 2017). Apart from Coca-Cola Company, Pepsi also face competition from many other organizations in some of the regions where it operates, with majority of these other competitors being local companies of different regions. The aspect of being a local company makes the organizations have more advantages of operation, thus increasing their competitiveness towards PepsiCo. A strength that Pepsi have over these other competitors, however, is its large revenue and financial capabilities and effective operational strategies that are considered much better compared to the local companies. The brand name of the organization is also the other major aspect that majority of the organizations aim to have nut it becomes extremely difficult for them to manage to achieve a similar level of effectiveness like the organization. With these two main aspects, Pepsi still manages to remain significantly competitive even in these other regions where a large number of organizations operate. (CSIMarket, 2017). From this diagram, it is clear that the organization has managed to achieve a significantly large market share which enables it to be considered among the best organizations operating in this industry. The Coca-Cola Company has the largest market share thus making it the largest competitor of the organization. To increase profitability and gains, therefore, PepsiCo requires formulating operational strategies that will enable it to manage to implement effectiveness of operation and improve its competitiveness over that of the Coca-Cola Company. The organization should also aim to attain improvements to remain significantly ahead of the rest of the competitors in this industry, an aspect that will help in ensuring that it remains completely effective and capable of operating in an appropriate manner (Heracleous, 2003). Value chain analysis to identify sources of competitive advantage The value chain of an organization refers to the process of analyzing the means through which an organization manage to deliver value to its customers. For PepsiCo organization, the value chain is significantly large since it is to it that the organization has managed to implement effectiveness in an appropriate manner. To begin with, the organization begins its value provision process by the manufacturing of majority of the products that it offers. The manufacturing process is first determined by the management, which defines the product to be manufactured and the means through which it will be manufactured. This manufacturing aspect provides the organization with an opportunity to obtain a competitive advantage since it is in this section that it defines the tastes and preferences of the products in production. Tastes and preference of the product significantly define the number of customers who will willingly purchase the products at hand and the means through which they will init iate this purchase. After the management initiates this process, the next main process is the activity of packaging and branding the manufactured products. The process of packaging and branding simply ensures that the products obtain the brand of the organization thus giving them the opportunity to be associated with the strong brand of the organization. The other important value chain aspect is product distribution. PepsiCo utilizes organizational resources for the process of transportation and also considers hiring other transportation methods to meet its transportation and distribution objectives. An improvement in this area has the potential of giving the organization a cost competitive advantage. Distribution is one of the areas that the organization spends a large sum of money in. With this regard, an assessment of whether the organizational transportation or the hired transportation is more cost effective should be made, and then the organization should adopt one method that is considered to be m uch better. By so doing, this value aspect could help in ensuring that the organization obtains another competitive advantage (Durand, 2006). After the products have been transported to the organizations storage units and market stores, the other important step is sales and marketing of the products. In this section, the organization also managed to obtain a competitive advantage. When there is effective marketing of products and sales are carried out effectively, all organizations manage to make effective sales. When a group of organizations is competing, therefore, the organization with the most effective marketing and sales strategies, therefore, manage to make the most sales. From the strong brand that PepsiCo has already managed to establish, it is clear that it has been utilizing effective marketing strategies which makes it among the best in its operations. The other important aspect of consideration with this organization is its ability to have loyal customers. This group of customers helps organizations manage to have a regular amount of income since they only purchase from its products on a regular basis. With th is regard, therefore, the organization can obtain a competitive advantage in almost all its value chain aspects. VIRO analysis on sources of the competitive advantage A VIRO analysis seeks to answer four main questions regarding the organizational resources. The first question is whether the organizational resources are valuable. The other question is whether these resources are rare and the other whether they are costly to imitate. The last question is whether the setting and organizing of the organization are capture the value of these resources. For the aspect of valuableness of the resources, to begin with, it is clear from the high ranking and revenue of PepsiCo that its resources are significantly valuable. It is extremely difficult for any starting firm to obtain such highly valued resources. For the question of whether the resources are rare, PepsiCo resources and strategies are extremely difficult for any other organization to obtain easily. The organization began as a significantly small store, which utilized these aspects of development for improvement. Currently, a large number of organizations begin with even more resources but still do not manage to achieve the level of effectiveness that PepsiCo has already achieved. With this regard, therefore, the organizations resources are rare for any organization to obtain easily. Imitation is another aspect that is extremely difficult for other organization to manage. To imitate the products that Pepsi manufactures, these other organizations require having equal or more resources for the manufacturing process and strategies which the organization utilizes to successfully manufacture its products. While the strategies may easily be obtained, it is extremely difficult to obtain similar resources and financial capability to imitate the operations of the organization. The setting of the organization, being the last main query of the VIRO analysis is an important aspect to consider. To begin with, the organizations setting has been shaped by the operations that it involves in and the current level of operation that is associated with. With this understanding, therefore, it is clear that the setting of the organization is organized in a manner through which it can fully capture the value of its resources (Morning Star, 2017). Recommendations on strategies of increasing competitiveness Like all other organizations, the establishment of a certain number of improvement strategies could help PepsiCo improve its competitiveness and market share, an aspect that is considered beneficial to both the organization and its investors. The first recommendation of improvement is to establish a brainstorming and innovation program in the organization for its employees through which they will provide their improvement ideas on how the organization can increase its competitiveness. This program will encourage employees to provide the organization with their ideas, and thus as their motivation of work increases, the organization will also increase chances of increasing effectiveness from ideas by its employees. The other important recommendation for the organization to expand further and penetrate other markets, to increase its market share and customers targeted, an aspect that will significantly increase the number of sales that it manages to make over time. This aspect will be s ignificantly beneficial and appropriate for a large number of individuals (Higgins, 1979). Conclusion PepsiCo is one of the most effective organizations operating in the food and beverage industry. This organization can retain the effectiveness of operation and ensure that all individuals remain completely capable of operating effectively over time. The organization, however still faces a large number of challenges in its operations, which makes it limited in the gains that it obtains and still maintains it as the second largest organization in its industry. Implementation of some management strategies can, however, help this organization to manage improving its position and even become the leading organization revenue and market share in this region. An example of such a recommendation is a further expansion to many other unpenetrated markets which will increase its sales and gains. An improvement of management strategies is thus the main goal that the organization has, which can help in its general improvement (Cattani, 2011). References Forbes, (2012).
